STORAGE TIP

Apples love the cold. The ideal temperature for storing apples is between 30 and 35 degrees F, with about 90 percent humidity. Ideally  they should be stored in the crisper drawer of your fridge, separate from other produce that may emit gases that can speed up ripening. Stored properly apples can last for months in the fridge. If you're tight on fridge space, or have a bunch of apples to store they can also be kept in boxes in a cool spot in your home. This could be an unheated basement or garage, just keep from sitting directly on the floor.
